The Weight of God's Word !

Are we aware, when we read the Word, of the spiritual scope and the authority of every word the Lord speaks?
We should pay very close attention! For not having taken His word seriously or obeyed it, many biblical figures met with serious setbacks—some even lost their lives !
God’s Word has creative power! God speaks, and it comes to be !

Isaiah 55:10: “So is my word that goes out from my mouth: it does not return to me empty, without accomplishing my will and achieving my purposes.” God binds Himself by His Word and watches over it !
When we speak or proclaim a Bible verse, it is like an atomic bomb! “Is not my word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” (Jeremiah 23:29)

We are hardly aware of all it can trigger and accomplish in the lives of those who hear it and put it into practice. God’s Word carries weight because it comes from the Almighty who created the heavens and the earth!
It can melt any hardened heart and change even the firmest convictions.

The Word penetrates our intentions, brings our self-justifications and blind spots to light (Heb. 4:12–13; Ps. 139:23–24). If it unsettles us, it’s not because it is harsh, but because it is living. It tears off the masks without humiliating the person: it humbles pride to set the heart free.
That is why we must know it and proclaim it over our lives and over those who do not yet know the salvation of God.

When we proclaim a biblical text and pray, we have no idea of the stir this causes in the heavenly places. A feverish activity takes place in the heavens that we do not see, yet it has visible effects on earth !
Lives are transformed, sins are abandoned, light enters homes, the hope of eternal life changes how we see things, the joy of salvation becomes a powerful testimony… In short, everything becomes life and light ! “He has transferred us from the domain of darkness into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” (Col. 1:13)

My friends, God’s Word is serious business !
It is rigorously accurate in every respect; it is the Word that judges us, not the reverse: “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12)

Sadly, we live in a fallen world, and “the god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel” (2 Corinthians 4:4). As history advances, many drift away from sound biblical teaching and unbelief spreads. “The Spirit says clearly that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and teachings of demons” (1 Timothy 4:1). There are many false teachers who keep the lost in blindness (Matthew 24:10–11; 2 Timothy 4:3; 1 John 4:1). The sad truth is that most people no longer regard the Bible as absolute authority. If the Word of God keeps being pushed to the margins, unbelief will continue to increase worldwide.

So then, dear friends, let us keep reading it, take it seriously, and proclaim it; let it change our thinking—so that many hearts may be touched and lives transformed.
